Awareness Campaigns & Strategy Committee, Active Participation (S006) is an Enrichment Programme Unit for students who are interested in the use of social media and other platforms to create awareness campaigns concerning the wellbeing of the JC students.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this unit, students should be able to:
- identify issues involving the wellbeing of peers
- learn how to develop an awareness campaign
- learn how to design and develop material to be used in posts on social media
- learn how to create a strategy in delivering the message to their peers
- work in a team with a mix of peers and adults.

This committee is part of an umbrella committee that seeks to endeavour for student wellbeing, the Student Wellbeing & Support Committee. Further information about this committee is available on the JC website.
Students are required to show commitment by attending all the sessions and participating actively in the group discussions and the development of the materials required for the campaigns.
The sessions of the unit shall be distributed as follows:
- 1 x 1hr introductory session
- 6 x 1hr regular session
- 2 x 1hr individual work
- 1x 1hr evaluation session
Additional benefits
- Students will have the opportunity to work closely with lectures and other members of the JC staff in an informal setting.
- Participating students will be giving a service to the College community especially to their fellow students.

- A maximum of two students may be accepted to form part of the committee.
