The JC Careers Expo that was scheduled to take place between 15 and 19 January 2024, had to be suspended due to union directives. The Expo was then held three weeks later between 5 and 9 February 2024. Regretfully, given the short period of time that we had on our hands, we were only able to offer a reduced version of the Expo, which consisted of the exhibition stands and omitted the talks.
The aim of this activity was to give a first-hand opportunity to students to discover and start exploring different study routes and career paths. The Expo was composed of a number of stands set up in the JC Foyer that hosted representatives from the University of Malta Faculties, Institutes, Centres and Schools which promoted their courses as well as from representatives from third-party entities who promoted their line of work as a profession. Students were strongly encouraged to visit the stands and enquire about any career paths or tertiary courses that they would like to pursue in their future and to visit the stands on a daily basis as the exhibitors were changing throughout the whole week.
During this edition, we had representations from an array of fields that included medicine, sciences, economics, management, accounting, computing, technology, social wellbeing, performing arts, languages, communications, humanities, catering, tourism, entrepreneurship, EU affairs, the police force, and transport among others.
Some of the entities that were going to participate in the Expo are now organising a series of webinars to replace the talks that they were going to give to the JC students.
Any webinars taking place will be listed here. Please keep an eye on this link as it is going to be constantly updated with information about new webinars.
