Learners who would like to take the MATSEC, Advanced Matriculation (AM), Physics examination in May 2025, but have no access to laboratory facilities.

This course will help learners to:

• obtain practical physics knowledge and skills listed in Section 9 of the MATSEC (AM) Physics syllabus
• prepare for and take the practical (AM) MATSEC examination in Physics.

• The Physics practicals will be held on Mondays from 17:00 till 20:00. Commencement date will be announced in due course.
• The practicals will have the same format as the MATSEC examination paper, and will cover all sections of the syllabus.
• Learners will do two (2) experiments from each of the following topics: Mechanics; Waves; Optics; Heat and Electricity.
• Each practical session will be allotted 80 marks (same as in MATSEC).
• A certificate of participation will be awarded to learners who successfully complete the course.
• Learners must attend a minimum of eight (8) sessions for certification to be awarded.
  
• Learners must hand in a practical writeup for each session they attend.

Marks will be awarded on correct readings taken, precision in results, plotting of graphs, interpretation of data and precautions taken.
