Practical Sessions in Advanced Matriculation

These courses are currently being offered by the Junior College.

Target

JC will be offering practical sessions in Advanced Matriculation Biology/Chemistry/Physics for applicants who:

  • are not registered at an educational institution and therefore have no access to laboratory facilities

OR

  • are not studying the respective subject at an educational institution

OR

  • are 18 years old by December 2024.

Objective

The three separate practical courses focus on experimental sessions in Advanced Matriculation Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Duration

January - April 2025

Entry Requirements

Eligible applicants should:
  • have a pass at SEC level in the respective subject.
  • have studied the respective subject at Advanced level. 

General Information

Ten (10) weekly sessions of three (3) hours each. This may vary as specified in the respective subject description. Each session will focus on practical aspects.

Sessions will be held as follows: 

Physics - Monday evenings

Biology - Wednesday evenings 

Chemistry - Thursday evenings

JC  reserves the right to change the days indicated if required.

Conditions

  • These courses are offered subject to a minimum number of students applying, and there are a limited number of places available in each course. 
  • Students attending these practical courses will be expected to abide by the rules and conditions which apply to full-time students, including the Student Code of Behaviour.
  • Students are expected to be punctual and attend all practical sessions for which they are registered.

Fees

An non-refundable registration fee of EUR 23.30 applies.

Each courses fee is EUR 450.00 and full payment must be made within a week from acceptance which will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Refund of the course fee will only apply in case the course in question is not held.

Applications will be received until Friday 22 November at 14:00 hrs.
