Advanced level

Computing - Advanced Level Course

This course is ideal for those students who would like to further their understanding of Computing, especially if they intend to pursue an undergraduate degree course which deals with the technical aspects of Computing. Programming in a high level language is an integral part of this course. The MATSEC course includes a set of three practical programming tasks that carry a total of 30% of the examination mark.

Students have a total of eight hours per week of tuition distributed as follows: five theory, two practical sessions and one tutorial. Students who would like to opt for this course should preferably have a good programming background and an MQF Level 3 qualification in Computing.

Computing - Intermediate Level Course

This course is intended to give a basic understanding of both the theory and techniques used in Computing. At the end of the course, students should be able to use programming languages and basic application packages in practical situations. Students will have to present a programming project in their final year which carries 20% of the final MATSEC examination mark. Students have three hours of tuition a week distributed as follows: two theory and one practical.
