I lecture Systems of Knowledge at the University of Malta Junior College, and The History of European Integration for the European Documentation and Research Centre (EDRC) at the University of Malta. My research interests are contemporary history and politics, international relations (particularly Euro-Mediterranean relations), and European Union affairs. I correct BA European Studies theses on the theme of the European integration process on a regular basis on the behalf of the EDRC. I welcome BA and MA thesis supervision from students reading European Studies and International Relations at the University of Malta and abroad. I am also a member of the Malta European Studies Association. Studied History of Art at the Università degli Studi di Siena, Italy, 1981–1985. TEACHING/LECTURING I taught Italian,
Geography and Maltese in various state schools for five years until 1988.
In November 1988 I started lecturing Systems of Knowledge at the G.F.
Abela State Sixth Form. In September 1995 I joined the University of Malta
Junior College, where I still lecture Systems of Knowledge. In February
1998 I started lecturing The History of European
Integration at the University of Malta. I have also been involved
in curriculum development, with the writing of two textbooks, namely: 1. European Integration: The Maltese Experience (2004), currently used in my course entitled: The History of European Integration; and 2. The Mediterranean: The European Union’s ‘Near Abroad’ (2006), currently used in another university course entitled: Euro-Med Relations. PUBLICATIONS 1. Malta–EEC Relations (Malta, Mireva, 1992). 2.
