Mathematics is a very
vast field which can be defined as a science or a group of related sciences
dealing with the logic of quantity, shape and arrangement. At the Junior
College, mathematics is divided into TWO main subjects. These are PURE MATHEMATICS Pure Mathematics is the study of rigorous mathematical arguments
using algebraic techniques which will give an insight into major mathematical
theories. The syllabus is divided into 4 main areas: Algebra, Trigonometry,
Calculus and Coordinate Geometry. Applied Mathematics is the mathematical modelling of real world situations. The syllabus is
divided into 2 main areas: Statics and Dynamics.
Both of them are vector oriented.
